About the event
Division 3 is excited to host its 2026 Spring Workshop, and all divisions are invited to attend.
This year’s featured training, led by Derek Crews, will provide a practical and well-rounded look at de-escalation, use of force, and report writing. Participants will explore both the tactical and communication aspects of de-escalation, helping build confidence in responding to a variety of real-world situations.
The workshop will also include a discussion on use of force report writing in North Carolina, with an emphasis on clear, accurate, and thorough documentation. In addition, attendees will review and evaluate real-world footage to strengthen decision-making, sharpen professional judgment, and better understand how actions are assessed.
Throughout the day, the training will remain interactive, engaging, and relevant to field operations, giving participants practical takeaways they can apply immediately.
