Julie Ann Harper
MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Julie Ann Harper embarked on her professional career at the North Carolina Department of Public Safety on January 3, 2005, assuming the role of a Probation Parole Officer in Wayne County, North Carolina. Noteworthy for her contributions, she was also an active member withmthe State Emergency Response Team in Division One. Julie worked in Greene and Wayne Counties until her untimely death on September 15, 2021.

Julie was a highly involved member of the North Carolina Probation and Parole Association, serving as the Chair for Division One and holding a position on the Executive Board. Throughout her tenure, she undertook various responsibilities within the organization, including organizing the Spring Workshops for Division One. Known for her dedication, Julie was instrumental in securing Speakers/Trainers for the workshops and ensuring they were appreciated with tokens of gratitude. She extended her support to activities such as Golf Tournaments, Fundraisers, and Training Institutes. In recognition of her significant contributions, the Executive Board Members of the North Carolina Probation and Parole Association unanimously decided on October 1, 2021, to rename the NCPPA Scholarship as the Julie Ann Harper Memorial Scholarship as a tribute to her remarkable service to the association.
