The NCPPA Training Institute is a statewide professional development event designed to bring together those who serve in and alongside community supervision.

Whether you are a probation or parole officer, supervisor, partner agency, or student in the field, this Institute offers an opportunity to connect, learn, and grow together.

Through meaningful training, networking, and shared experiences, attendees gain valuable insight, strengthen professional relationships, and continue advancing the important work of community supervision across North Carolina.

Registration Information

The 28th Annual NCPPA Training Institute is open to NCPPA members only.

​

Not a member yet? No problem. You will just need to complete your $50 NCPPA membership before registering for the event. Visit our membership page for more details.

Registration Timeline

Early Bird Registration: $150

July 2 – August 1, 2026
Standard Registration: $175

Additional Information

Please note that hotel accommodations are not included in the registration fee and must be booked separately. A hotel booking link will be provided after registration is complete.

We encourage attendees to register early to take advantage of the discounted rate and secure their place at this year’s Training Institute.

Nearest Airport

  • The closest airport is Piedmont Triad International Airport (GSO) 1000 Ted Johnson Parkway, Greensboro, NC 27409

  • The airport is approximately 12 miles (about a 20-minute drive) from Grandover Resort & Spa. 
     

Driving Directions

  • From Asheville, NC (approx. 2 hours / 125 miles):

  • From Wilmington, NC (approx. 3.5 hours / 200 miles)

Attendees will stay at Grandover Resort & Spa, which offers a full-service experience in a beautiful, secluded setting just minutes from downtown Greensboro.

Booking Information

Hotel accommodations are available exclusively to registered attendees.

  • A booking link will be provided after registration is complete

  • Rooms booked prior to registration are subject to cancellation at the discretion of NCPPA

  • The room block is offered at the state rate

  • Attendees are responsible for verifying applicable resort fees and taxes have been removed prior to checking out of the hotel. 

  • We encourage attendees to register early to secure their accommodations.

Dress Code

To help maintain a professional and cohesive environment throughout the Training Institute, please follow the dress guidance below:

    • Business professional attire is required.
       

  • Thursday, September 3

    • Business casual or department-approved uniform (e.g., DCS black and tan uniform).
       

  • Friday, September 4

    • Business professional attire is required.

Questions

Do I need to attend all days?
Yes. To receive training credit, attendees must participate in all days and sessions outlined on the agenda. Session check-in will be required.

Will certificates be provided?
Certificates are available upon request to document completed training hours.

What should I bring?

  • Something to take notes with

  • Business cards for networking
     

Can I use my phone, laptop, or tablet during sessions?
To help maintain an engaging and distraction-free learning environment, we ask that you refrain from using devices during sessions. Please limit use of cell phones, laptops, and tablets to essential purposes only, and step out if you need to take a call or respond to messages.

 

Do I need to wear my badge/lanyard?
Yes. Your lanyard, issued at registration, must be worn at all times to access training sessions and event activities.

 

Arrival & Check-In

Attendee registration will begin at 12:00 PM. Hotel room check-in begins at 4:00 PM.
 

Early check-in may be available based on hotel availability. Attendees will need to coordinate directly with the hotel for early arrival requests.
 

Parking

On-site parking is available and free for all attendees.

We understand that many of our members have dietary restrictions. While we do our best to accommodate a variety of needs, we encourage you to reach out with any specific concerns—we take these seriously and will do our best to support you.
